Day 01: Fly to Simikot from Kathmandu via Nepalganj, Simikot to Yakba Khola (2960m/9,711ft) 4 hours (you'll need one day to fly from Kathmandu to Nepalganj, and another day to fly to Simikot from Nepalganj)
Day 02: Yakba Khola to Chumsa Khola (2830m/9,284ft) 5 hours
Day 03: Chumsa Khola to Muchu (2850m/9,350ft) 5 hours
Day 04: Muchu to Tharo Dhunga (4000m/13,123ft) 8 hours
Day 05: Tharo Dhunga to Sher (4160m/13,648ft) 5 hours (cross the border into China)
Day 06: Drive from Sher to Takalot (Purang) (3790m/12,434ft) 5 hours
Day 07: Drive to Darchan (4560m/14,960ft) 5 hours
Day 08: Darchan to Damding Donkhang (4890m/16,043ft) 5 hours begin the circumambulation for the mountain
Day 09: Damding Donkhang to Jarok Donkhang (5210m/17,093ft) 3 to 4 hours
Day 10: Jarok Donkhang to Zutul-puk (4790m/15,715ft) 7 hours
Day 11: Zutul-puk to Darchan (4790m/15,715ft) 4 hours
Day 12: Drive to Sher or Takalot
From Sher or Takalot you can continue back to Nepal through Humla, to Lhasa or to Kashgar and on into Pakistan. 7 day drive to Lhasa, 3 day drive to the Pakistan border
Day 13: Sher to Manepeme (4120m/13,517ft) 4 hours
Day 14: Manepeme to Til Chu (4300/14,107ft) 8 hours
Day 15: Til Chu to Jang (3930m/12,893ft) 7 hours
Day 16: Talug to Shinjungma (4570m/14,993ft) 7 hours

Trip Notes
Fly to Nepalganj (1hour) form Kathmandu or travel across Nepal by hired car or bus (20+hours). From Nepalganj catch a morning flight to Simikot (45 min) in Nepal's Humla district. Trek to the Chinese border (5 days) and then drive from the border to Darchan (Tibet) and then begin the Mt. Kailas curcuit. You can drive on to Lhasa from here or return to Nepal through the same route.
It's also possible to walk from Surkhet (1 hour flight +4 hour drive or 15 hour bus ride) form Kathmandu via Nepalganj. The route will add 12 to 15 days to your journey.

Permits & Fees
A fee of $90USD per person for the first seven days and $15 USD per person per day thereafter for Nepal. A permit for travel to Tibet, and fees for travel to Mt. Kailas through the Chinese PSB (public service bureau) are also charged.
For travel to Tibet you need to obtain a Chinese visa. US citizens need to pay $50 for a single entry, $75 for a double entry within six months. All other foreign nationals must pay a $30 fee for a single entry and $45 for a double entry within six months. You can obtain a Chinese visa in your home country or from the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu. You’ll need blank pages in your passport and photographs as well as photocopies of your passport. To travel to Tibet you need a special permit. This permit can only be arranged through a tour operator. Mogambo will arrange the permit when you book travel with us.
