Day 02- (From Jiri) to Shivalaya (2370m/7,775ft)

It’s possible to shorten this trek by 6 days by flying to Lukla and then trekking toward Namche Bazaar.

Trip Notes


Fly to Lukla from Kathmandu (35 minutes) to begin the 15 day trek to EBC (Everest Base Camp) or take a bus to Jiri (10 hours) from Kathmandu and walk to Lukla, for the 21 day trek to Base Camp. Trekkers on this route often experience AMS (acute mountain sickness) we recommend you rest and acclimatize along the way to prevent symptoms. Always follow the advice of your sherpa and remember AMS can be fatal.
