Upper Mustang Trek
Mustang is an ancient kingdom with the fabled walled city of Lo as its capital and home to the King. Mustang is divided into two regions Upper and Lower Mustang. Mustang is part of the high and dry Tibetan plateau and it’s vast, windswept desert mountains are one of the most stunning attractions in Nepal. Upper Mustang is a restricted area, only open to foreign tourists since 1991and trekkers need a special permit and must follow strict guidelines while visiting the area. Mustang treks are camping expeditions and require an entourage of porters, cooks, horses and guides.
